Dear all,

As I am using FastHenry for simulating coil structures, something suprised me when I started using the tool: there is no port definition.
I mean, in a MoM/FEM simulator, you decide what kind of excitation is applied "here", and "there", with a nominal impedance (somewhat 50 ohms).
So, is there a need to specify port impedance with FastHenry, or is this a misunderstanding how simulation occurs ?

If you try a single line with with of 20 and hight of 5 and length of 100 µm. The Result is a resistance of 0.017.... (at a frequency near 0Hz)
Fundamental rule says R = rho * A /l you would come up with the same value without definition of a port. You also could see it as Voltage drop occuring from a current of 1A.

Hopefully that is what you where asking about, otherwise I'm sorry
